Kamianske
Zaporizhzhia region

Kamianske is a village in the Vasylivka urban community of Vasylivka district, Zaporizhzhia region. It is located on the banks of the Yanchekrak River, at the point where it flows into the Kakhovka Reservoir. Until 2025, prisoner exchanges and rotations of IAEA specialists—who carried out monitoring functions at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant—took place here.

General information

The area of the village is 12.2 km².

As of January 1, 2022, the population was 2,117 people.

As of April 2026, there is no civilian population in the village—since October 2025, even the delivery of humanitarian aid has ceased.

Destruction

As a result of Russian aggression, the village is 99% destroyed. Not a single intact house remains in Kamianske—no surviving walls, no fortifications, no shelters.

All buildings have been destroyed: 980 private houses and four apartment buildings, three educational institutions, two cultural institutions, ten municipal buildings, and five administrative buildings. Access to the community’s territory was previously severely restricted and later disappeared altogether; therefore, in many cases, the inspection and documentation of destruction were carried out remotely.

There was no gas supply in the village, while water and electricity supplies ceased on March 2, 2022.

The village was home to two industrial facilities and historical landmarks—two Scythian burial mounds, a wooden windmill from the early 20th century, and a memorial complex dedicated to the heroes of World War II.

According to the Vasylivka City Military Administration, 38 civilians were killed and 56 wounded in Kamianske as a result of Russian shelling.
