On March 12, the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv region served a notice of suspicion under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on a Russian serviceman for the murder of a civilian resident of Makariv in 2022.
What is known about the suspect
Magomedmirza Magomedrasulovich Suleymanov (born December 8, 1991) is a citizen of the Russian Federation.
At the time of the crime, he was the commander of a motorized rifle platoon of the 37th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Army of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation (military unit 69647).
He took direct part in the invasion of Ukraine and was a member of the occupation group that controlled the village of Makariv, Bucha district, Kyiv region, from February 25 to March 31, 2022.
On November 6, 2025, the Makariv District Court of Kyiv Region sentenced him to 12 years in prison for the rape of a woman committed on March 7, 2022.
Circumstances of the crime
The new suspicion relates to events that took place in Makariv on the same day — March 7, 2022, between 11:00 and 16:00.
At the intersection of Ivan Bondarenko and Hrushevskoho streets, the suspect caught up with a 39-year-old local woman who was dressed in civilian clothes, had no weapons and was not involved in hostilities.
Pointing a loaded assault rifle at her back, Suleymanov forcibly took the woman to a neighboring house on Hrushevskoho Street, where he killed her.
The woman's face, neck and collarbone were cut with a knife, and she had fractures of the skull bones.
The forensic examination established that death was caused by combined blunt trauma to the head and neck with fractures of the skull bones and a cut wound to the clavicular area. All injuries were inflicted immediately before or shortly before death.
Suspicion
Suleymanov was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder.
