On June 30, 2026, the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv Region served a notice of suspicion under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine to a russian occupier who robbed local residents in the village of Makariv near the Ukrainian capital.
Who is the suspect
Suleymanov Magomedmirza Magomedrasulovych (born December 8, 1991) is a native of Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia, russian Federation.
At the time of the crime, he served as commander of a motorized rifle platoon of the 37th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Army of the Eastern Military District of the armed forces of the russian Federation (Military Unit 69647).
He took a direct part in the invasion of Ukraine and was part of the occupation force that controlled the village of Makariv, Bucha District, Kyiv Region, from February 25 to March 31, 2022.
On November 6, 2025, the Makariv District Court of Kyiv Region sentenced him in absentia to 12 years' imprisonment for the rape of a woman on March 7, 2022. On March 12, 2026, he received another notice of suspicion for the murder of a civilian resident of Makariv.
Circumstances of the crime
On March 7, 2022, Suleymanov, together with other russian servicemen, arrived at a cottage community in Makariv and began going from house to house, checking whether anyone was inside.
After entering the grounds of one of the houses, he demanded money and precious metals from the women living there. At the same time, he demonstratively reloaded his assault rifle, pointed it at the victims, and threatened to kill everyone present if they refused, but eventually left.
Later that day, he returned and, pointing the assault rifle at one of the women, again demanded money and valuables. As a result of the intimidation, he stole 57,000 hryvnias, as well as gold earrings and a wedding ring. In addition, Suleymanov forcibly tore an earring from the victim's ear, tearing her earlobe.
Later, the occupier returned to the house for a third time and opened fire with his assault rifle at the victims, who were standing on the doorstep.
The women managed to shut the front door and hide inside, after which the serviceman left the yard and disappeared in an unknown direction.
Suleymanov's criminal actions resulted not only in material losses and physical injuries but also caused severe psychological trauma to civilians — one of the victims was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Suspicion
Suleymanov's actions were classified as cruel treatment of the civilian population, pillage, and violations of the laws and customs of war (Part one of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The criminal proceedings were entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under No. 22025101110001100 on September 22, 2025.
